Book scene 6

This is another scene for the book. He lands in the fairy world and meets his very own toothfairy. I emphasized the lighting to be focused on his fairy. Since the fairies are supposed to live up in the sky in fairy castle, I kept theses forest creatures in the drawing to show what lives in the actual forest. This drawing was originally drawn for my drawing class a few months ago and I drew it to intentionally use for this scene. All I had to do was add the main character and his fairy and color over my original marker and ink drawing, and add the lighting I was going for. I included the other drawings and digital painting to show my proccess of how I did it all.

This is another scene for the book I'm working on. He's falling from the sky and I added some particles around him emphasizing his entrance to a different world.

I forgot an important part of the scene. The necklace he stole from the gnome. So, I added that and tweaked the lighting a little bit.

Here's the next scene. I have the doorway crooked showing it kind of appearing out of nowhere, and he's kind of starting off slow towards it before jumping through showing his cautiousness to enter an unknown world.

book scene

This is another scene for the book that I have been Illustrating. I started last week, but got sick with the flu and still am pretty sick, but I was determined to finish this and think it turned out pretty good. The longest part was the light and shadow to show it's later at night and lit by the moon instead of the sunset in a previous scene.

Drawing class final

This is titled "That's our ship!" The fat farmer and his helper chimp found this pile of junk and are trying to fix it up while the original owners decide to show up. I really learned alot in this class and am sad to have it be finaly over.

robot worker assignment

This was last weeks assignment with the theme of robot worker. I did a cleaning robot. This is my usual process after I get the sketch where I want it to be. I trace over it in ink, then scan it in to do a digital painting for a value study trying out different lighting and shadows, then I print it out for reference when I take the inked version from before and use my markers and white paint to finish it. I really liked how it turned out, though the scan of the finished version doesn't look as good as the real thing. I learned why and how to do better scans since then, and when I get my portfolio back, I'll rescan a better image of it.
It's been a little over a week since I turned in my portfolio and have at least another week or two to find out if I got in the animation program or not.
